In designing a two stage power amplifier, can i use BJT or FET in first stage and LDMOS transistor in second stage? What problems can i face? if any..

The question is really vague ... there are many views, but no one posted as yet. Please post more details if you wish for some sensible answers.

Actually i want 24.33 dB gain..input is 2.5 W input and output is 678 W output and frequency is 1030 MHz....in second stage if i use LDMOS transistor with 17 dB gain(i m using this transistor because it is high power transistor 600 W with known s-parameters...at such high power mostly the manufacturer does not give s-parameters but gives test circuit)...now for first stage i want transistor with 7 dB gain and on required frequency of operation as far as i have searched mostly LDMOS transistors have high gains ...so dats y i was asking whether BJT or FET transistor is used which have not much higher gains....hope i am making sense...
