Hi,
where a complex impedance is coming from does NOT matter! Apply the usual conj complex impedance to get power match, that's it. Maybe best think that you can create a TRL eqivalent circuit, so it obviously does not matter which element comes physically from what (like being part of the line or maybe being an smd component). One difference is that for real line power match and flat frequency response, having no reflections fit together. But in general conj matching can be done only for narrow bands.
