sink and source current source from far gnd
Mar 04th, 2015, 1:28am

Hi

Is there any difference to sink or source Iref curent from a current generator (which has good ground) to a  blockA which is far far away?
assume both current generator and blockA has the same VDD.

Hi,

just remember that current always flows in a loop. You should be able to model what would happen by including some ground impedance.

If the generator is referenced to the ground at the source, then you are likely to have some "ground bounce" at the load. The current itself will not change unless it is dependent on the load impedance.

regards,
Aaron
