How to ensure sigma-delta DAC output to be monotonic?
Mar 25th, 2015, 5:54pm

I have an over-sampled DAC design with 20-bits input to modulator input and 8-bits output to DAC. Then LPF to remove quantization noise.

The DAC is segmented and is subject to mismatch.

My question is that how to specify the linearity of this 8-bit segmented DAC to ensure that the final output of this system is monotonic?

Thanks,
Neo
