HSPICE Shooting Newton AC (SNAC) analysis in Cadence ADE
Jan 09th, 2016, 10:04am

Hi.

For finding frequency response of a periodically driven circuit using SNAC analysis (of HSPICE-RF in Cadence ADE), we need to use a periodic ac source in the schematic.

So, when I am trying to set the "SNAC magnitude" parameter of "vsin" source in schematic, it is not appearing in the generated netlist (as shown in attached screenshot).
Hence, the SNAC analysis is not giving proper output.

Please suggest what can be the problem that the voltage source parameter entered in schematic is not coming to the netlist?

Can you try setting different values for SNAC and HBAC so we can see where these values show up in the netlist?

Hi Geoffrey,

Thanks for your attention.
I have just received an update from Synopsys support that this might be a bug (as they have reproduced the same at their end) and they are investigating it.

Synopsys repliedd: "R&D fixed the issue in the future release of HSPICE. We will update the information about release date once we receive the information from our R&D." on 18th Jan 2016.
