hspice error for windows.
Aug 13th, 2016, 12:23am

I am running a 64 bit version of hspice and cosmos scope on windows 10. Cosmos seems to be working fine but hspice is quitting when I try to simulate. I get the message "hspice.exe has stopped working" and then just quits.

Any clue as to why this might be the case?

Generally, a problem like this would have to be reported to the vendor (Synopsys), but there are a few things you could try to rule out problems on your side.

Have you tried running a smaller/simpler circuit?  Eg, just a resistor and a voltage source in a dc sweep.

Can you run hspice in Windows 7 compatibility mode?

Thanks for the reply. I spoke to Synopsys and got it working. It was some license file issue.
