Default Prefix of Instance Name in Cadence Virtuoso
Dec 13th, 2017, 5:20am

When I place "analogLib/res" in schematic, an instance name begins with "R".
This is true for "analogLib/cap", "analogLib/ind", etc.
Instance of "analogLib/cap" begins with "C".
Instance of "analogLib/ind" begins with "L".

However my custom instance name begins with "I".
I can not find out any related settings for changing default prefix of instance name in "CIW>Tools>CDF>Edit".

How can I set default prefix of instance name in Cadence Virtuoso ?

Dear Mr. Salary,

If you search in cdnshelp for "instNamePrefix" it will explain how to do this. In general, adding a cellView property on the symbol (so open the symbol for edit, and then Edit the cellView properties) - the property should be called "instNamePrefix" and the value (it should be a string) should be the prefix you want.

Regards,

Andrew.

Thanks. This can work.
