ADC simulation with SpectreRF
Apr 30th, 2004, 12:09am

CryHi, I want to simulate a simple 5-bit CMOS flash-ADC with autozeroed-comparators. In transient it is quite straight forward, but very slow. I tried pss with fclk=6.25MHz & fin=625kHz, but it seems to be even impossible to get any results. I also don't understand why SpectreRF sets tstop to 21us.

Has anybody ideas to simulate quantization noise, THD+Noise, effective bits, offset, INL, DNL, etc. really effectively? Of course for real high-performance ADC the situation is much more complex (influence of jitter, etc.) and simulations will be extremely time-consuming.

Bye Stephan
