Cache size verses performance on linux/solaris

Hello,
Has anyone data on how the Cache size on the linux machines may limit speed performance as your design gets larger?
I would like to be able compute a summary report on the effect of the cache memory size on spectre simulation speed.
Such information is really valuable when you want know which ckts to send to linux and which to send to solaris to get maximum speed performance. This will be extremely useful for example in a case of a distributed environment composed by both solaris and linux machines.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Helene
