noise type=modulated

I am using SpectreRF version 5.0.33.144

I wanted to use this mode to make sure AM noise was insignifcant in the phase noise reported in noisetype=sources mode.

How does one use the noisetype = modulated option in pnoise? I find no documentation on this. I tried it but get nonsensical results. For example, I simulated a hard limited oscillator, but the USB and LSB noise are different.

Also, AM and PM noise are much higher than USB, LSB, or phase noise. Their spectra are almost flat.

Am I missing something? Was this not intended to be used with oscillators?

Thanks,

Mark Smiley
