Simulating LNAs in time domain
Feb 25th, 2005, 9:22pm

Hi all,
I need to run a simulation in time domain on my LNA but the problem is that I'm not sure what will happen to noise sources in my circuit since they are defined in frequency domain.

Does anybody have any idea how I can simulate an LNA in time domain and find its NF.

Thanks
Mohammad

I'm no expert, but I may be able to comment on your question if you provide more details.

First of all, why do you want to do a time domain analysis on a LNA? What is the intended application of your LNA? What is the bandwidth of your amplifier?

Also, what tools are you using to simulate?

For sure, I don't think you can use the noise sources you mention to run a transient simulation.
