How to plot tuning rangevs frequency in spectre
May 03rd, 2006, 12:59pm

Hi,

I have a question in spectre, How to plot the tuning range vs amplitude of the output signal for a ring oscillator. Also I want to plot tuning range voltage vs frequency for an oscillator.

I have attached a figure which I got from one of the spectre lab manual from internet. But I dont know how he acheived it. Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Prakash.

Hi Prakash,

You can do a parametric anaylsis (the parameter to sweep is vtune).

As it is an oscillator, I guess a parametric pss anaylsis is what was done. The oscillation frequency, and oscillation amplitude are calculated in the pss run. If you use artist(ADE), you can set it up directly in the pss form under sweep OR you can just use the tools->parametric analysis form.

cheers

aw
