Is anybody know ASIDES for sigma delta design
Jul 23rd, 2006, 11:34pm

Hi~~~
I looked the book & paper "Top-Down Design of sigma delta Modulator" written by Fernando Medeiro.
They introduce Tools ASIDES , SDOPT & FRIDGE for simulate SDM ,it seems very accuracy.
Is anybody know that tools?
Is it really very useful? I didn't see any people use that except they.

And i very wonder how should we choose the opa's specification DC gain ,slew rate......(if we use switched-cap) ?
Is just calculated by hand, or use verilog A to model ?
I want know a good company how to do this...
Thanks~~~!!!!!!!!

About ASIDES:

They have written this tool themselves. Several years ago I asked them for evaluation copy, but they did not respond, so I gave up.. Actually all equations for modelling non-idealities are in the book, so it's pretty straight forward to implement your own SDM model in Matlab or Verilog-A.

Also have a look at a paper & Simulink library by people from Uni of Pavia in Italy (Maloberti & Co) - it's good for a start.

I think Maloberti & Medeiro they do the same thing.

And you said
"Actually all equations for modelling non-idealities are in the book, so it's pretty straight forward to implement your own SDM model in Matlab or Verilog-A"
did you do this ? Is it accuracy?
thanks~~!!
