Post-processing capabilities in Verilog-AMS/Spectr
Aug 03rd, 2006, 9:20am

Hi,

Are there post-processing capabilities (like plotting etc) available in Verilog-AMS or Spectre? I collect some data during my simulation in an array that can be dumped into a file. I would like to visuliaze this data by plotting it in waveform ?

Verilog-AMS is a language, not a tool ...

wavescan is Cadence's new waveform viewer for their simulators.

there are no plotting functions actually IN either simulator..
and neither AWD, wavescan nor simvision do a very decent job showing you the value(s) of an array.. but if  you collect these from a variable over time you can plot the value of the variable during the simulation..
or make sure you format your output ( or reprocess it with perl or python) for you favorite external tool.. (python has some plotting functions available, so I guess Perl does too.. ) or you can format as a CSV file or XML and pass it to Matlab, openOffice or (gasp)  :-X MSExcel..
