schematics vs schematics ?
Nov 22nd, 2006, 11:41pm

Hi,
We have the conventional layout vs schematics (LVS) check tool available, but is there one tool for "schematics vs schematics" ? I have two sets of schematics and wish to verify if they are identical.

Thanks,
Richard

There are tools which provide the option to verify schematic v/s schematic.
One of the case where this is very useful is, when  big schematic is devided/partitioned
into smaller schematics to cater easy layout execution.
Architecure of the block remains same  but hierarchy is changed . If the change is done  after the simulation of the block is
completed.schematic v/s schematic verification is very crucial to make sure everything is intact.

Thanks and regards,
Krishna

Most Physical verification tools allow this. Diva, Assura, Dracula do, and I'm sure others can too.

After all, LVS is a matter of extracting a netlist from layout, and then comparing that netlist against a schematic netlist. So schematic vs schematic is just a subset of what LVS normally has to do.

Regards,

Andrew.
