error during elaboration
Jan 09th, 2007, 6:43am

I have the circuit setup and i'm trying to run the AMS simulation.
At Design Prep stage, it successfully creates the netlist, but
in the elaboration stage it gives the follwing warning.

Affirma_AMS simulator currently doesnot support the 5.X configuration
in combination with the prop.cfg used to describe analog primitives.

I could simulate the above in spectre

Can anybody suggest regarding this?

Being able to simulate in spectre doesn't really mean that much... AMS is simulated rather differently.

Are you specifying properties for specific instances or cells? For example, the view to use set to sourcefile?

It's hard to know without seeing what you're doing. Can you look in your library in the config view you're using, and see if there's a file in there called prop.cfg - if so, can you post it here?

Also, what version are you using (of the simulator, and the envrionment) (ncsim -version and icfb -W will reveal this info)

Regards,

Andrew.

Hi Andrew
following are the version for ncsim and icfb.

TOOL:   ncsim   05.70-s007
icfb:sub-version 5.10.41.500.3.49

Also  attaching the zipped version of prop.cfg file

Thanks and regards,
Krishna

Well, there are two options:

1. specify on the AMS->Options->Elaborator in the [] Additional Arguments field,
   -propspath /path/to/your/prop.cfg file
I've got a request in somewhere to do this automatically, but it doesn't for some reason
2. In this case just delete the prop.cfg file from the cellView, since it is effectively empty.

Regards,

Andrew.

Really? You deleted the props.cfg file and it still gives that error? That seems very unlikely...

Can you double check that you've deleted it from the right place?

Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

I have deleted  the prop.cfg file in the path.
/home/testcase/SWITCHSIM/config,

and in the elaborator options added following for additional arguments:

-propspath   /home/testcase/SWITCHSIM/config

It gives the same error. Could you suggest

Thanks and regards,
Krishna

Well, you don't want to delete it AND add the -propspath - since you're then pointing at the props.cfg file that doesn't exist.

However, the -propspath should include the name of the actual prop.cfg file if you were going to do this, not the name of the directory it is contained within.

Regards,

Andrew.
