hi all,

iam a novice for a pll design.

how do we start a pll design if reference freq, VCO output freq and the lock time are given as specifications??
how do we assign the gain constants for individual blocks??
if there is any book regarding these, please post it??

The Analysis tutorials are excellent, while the Books section has enough information to help you select the right ones.
Ultimately though, I'd advise you to tackle a specific design problem as opposed to taking long conducted tours.

Phaselock Techniques by Gardner (more theoretical)

Phase-Locked Loops by Best (more practical/tutorial)
