How to simulate an impedance file
Mar 12th, 2007, 9:24am

Hi all!
I would like to simulate the behaviour of an audio amplifier where the loudspeaker is described by a text file containing the load impedance (magnitude and phase). Since the load impedance behaviour shows several self-resonances, a physical model is not trivial to fit.
I am wondering if Spectre can simulate a circuit including, in some manner, a file describing the frequency behaviour of the load. I guess an AC analysis can be done by means of a S-parameter model file but I am not sure about transient analysis.
Did anybody of you find the same problem? Can you suggest how to simulate an impedance described by a tabular file?

Many thanks in advance, bye!
