Problem of verilog-ams in Spectre
Apr 04th, 2007, 8:29pm

Hi everyone,

I have used the op-amp verilog-ams model on this website, and trying to use Spectre in ADE to simulate it. I have use the hierachy editor to select the verilogams view for this op-amp block.

However, when I tried to simulate it in the Spectre simulator, I got the following error:

Netlist Error: Unknown cell type for instance 'I8' in lib 'low_voltage' cell 'ideal_op' view 'verilogams'.

I8 is the block for the verilog-ams program. Low_voltage is my library's name.

I am very puzzled and I don't know what to do with it. Someone even suggests to me that perhaps Spectre ADE does not supprt the view type verilogams.

Please help. Thank you so much.
David.

That is correct, Spectre does not support Verilog-AMS. It supports Verilog-A.

Thanks Ken for your reply.

In this case, if I want to use Verilog-AMS, which simulator in Cadence would support that?
