design database synchronization
Jul 31st, 2007, 1:02am

Hello

I wonder if existe some Cadence (or some 3rd part) tool that allows to synchronize 2 design databases that reside on 2 different servers.

Regards

Pavel.

We use rsync which is built into linux and is free. However, I am not an IT/CAD support guy, just a dumb RF designer so can't really provide a lot of details on it  use. We have a script that runs over night and synchronizes the database at 3 locations. So far it has worked well but the database is very small right now

At a previous company, I believed they used Synchronicity, which is a third party cadence database management, version control tool but the designers did not like the tool and tended to avoid using it so can't provide much else detail. Hope it helps though
