How to create a skewable testbench source.

Hi,
how do you guys create a differential input pattern generator to check how a cml buffer chain reacts to skew in input signal? Hope to be able to have something usable for a parametric simulation of a buffer chain with a bit of level converting.

is this in simulation testbenches or "on the bench with a soldering iron in hand" type of bench?
