simulation of quadrature phase error in spectre
Jan 10th, 2009, 11:56am

hi, i am using pss analysis to obtain quadrature phase error of a qvco. the method i use is ADE->Results->Direct Plot->Main Form

Analysis: PSS
Function: Voltage
Select: Net
Sweep: Spectrum
Signal Level: Peak
Modifier: Phase

should the results for phase of I+/Q+/I-/Q- be exactly 0/90/180/270 or should the difference between I+/I- and Q+/Q- be 180 and between I+/Q+ and I-/Q- be 90? My results are the second case (phase of I+ is not 0, but rest of relationships are valid), is it correct?

You should observe phase differences between them.
So your results are reasonable
