About inter symbol interference (ISI)

hi, all
I have a question confused me recently. We know that in sigma delta ADC or DAC, which implemented with current steering(feedback DAC in sigma delta ADC) elements. Many papers stated that the ISI will give rise to SNR and THD performace decrease, but why this is arose?
