questions on "Simulating Switched-Capacitor Filters with SpectreRF"

Hi Ken,

I am on my research to design a low power ADC. I plan to use SAR ADC. After reading your paper, I have some concerns about using PSS analysis.

1. Normally while designing circuit, we will first find all components values (width, length, etc) by DC analysis, and then go with AC and Trans. Now if I am handling clocked circuit, it seems that DC analysis is no longer valid, then how can I get sense about whether my components values are correct or not by PSS results?

2. From paper P23 1st paragraph, it said "in this case, one would generally use a constant valued input signal ..." does it mean while I am simulating cyclic ADC, I could not use real input signal to simulate the circuit performance, but I need to cycle by cycle simulate it?

3. Do you have references suggested for further understanding convergence difficulties during PSS?

I am not sure if my questions are clear or not as I am very new on PSS analysis.

Thanks a lot!
