Save and plot node voltage in post-layout simulation
Jun 06th, 2010, 8:53pm

Hi Guys,

I failed to save and plot node voltage in a post-layout simulation. Last week I ran a post-layout simulation with RC extracted view. That was extracted using Assura. I tried to save and plot a few nodes inside the RC extracted view. I set up the config view, chose the schematic view first. Then select a few nodes in the schematic. Then I switched to RC extracted view in Hierarchy editor and Run simulation.  But two nodes in all my selections are not saved. The following is detailed information in ncsim.log.

Quote:
ncsim> probe -create -emptyok -database ams_database {adc_sim.I0.u_adc.muxout_m}
Created probe 4
ncsim> probe -create -emptyok -database ams_database {adc_sim.I0.u_adc.muxout_p}
Created probe 5

Transient Analysis `tran': time = (0 s -> 50 us)

Warning from spectre during IC analysis, during transient analysis `tran'.
   adc_sim.I0.u_adc.muxout_m is not present in the design.
   adc_sim.I0.u_adc.muxout_p is not present in the design.

Trying `homotopy = gmin' for initial conditions.
Trying `homotopy = source' for initial conditions.

Any comments are appreciated.

ywguo,
The message suggests that the name does not exist.
A few ideas: Did you check your extracted view/netlist that it contains the name? Is the hierarchy the same, did any flattening occur?

I faced similar issues like the ones Yawei had. However I was able to plot any node simulated from the extracted view by selecting the corresponding net from the schematic view.

That worked for me so far.
