Gain in current mode circuit
Mar 23rd, 2011, 7:04am

How to you calculate the gain in a current mode filter (or any current mode circuit in general)

For a voltage filter you have G= Vout/vin

Do you also use the Current gain (G=Iout/Iin) to simulate the behavior of a current mode filter or should you convert the currents to voltages and calculate voltage gain to do so accurately?

Or if you want to test if an OTA with differential input/output is working properly. What kind of topology should one use to calculate suitable behavior and gain?

hi,
from simulations point of view don't convert from voltage/current domain mainly because these conversion gains will come into picture. for example take OTA, apply voltage at the input and kindly bias output with proper dc voltage by means of voltage source and check how much current it is sinking/soursing into dc source..
Thanks.

Yes it is simulation i am trying to do.Thanks for the reply....so if understand it correctly I should bias both outputs with a voltage and calculate current gain right?

How would something like this work for a circuit with current input/output?
