Can I use Logic process for Analog design
May 02nd, 2012, 3:31pm

Hello all,
Please i have a 0.25um tech file i want to use for Analog design. But there is a comment section like below:
PROCESS :  0.25um LOGIC SALICIDE (1P5M, 2,5V, 2.5V/3.3V)

My question is, can i use this for analog design? I am thinking its specifically just for Digital? Also i plan on using the normal 2.5V devices though my VDD is 3.3V, was wondering if this will be ok? Please i will appreciate a fst response.
Thanks a lot!

It is not a problem to use them for analog, as long as the foundry provides analog models for the transistors. Check the documentation.
And I wouldn't recommend using 3.3V for 2.5V transistors. It will shorten the life span of your transistors. You should convert 3.3V to 2.5V via some kind of a voltage regulator.

It is single poly CMOS which should not be a problem.
You will be limited in the quality of your resistors,
having a silicided poly layer and R-N-Well as your options.

TSMC 0.25? Probably not a problem.
Models not the best, but you can survive.
