BOOST "DUTY CYCLE" ISSUE

Hi all,

I want to intuitively understand why the "Duty" in a typical inductor-based DC-DC BOOST converter depends "quadratically" on the parameters like Output Voltage, Input Voltage, Losses..etc...

Mathematically, it is clear to me. But, Why should there be a second-order dependency in this converter, unlike in BUCK Converter?

I guess intuitively the average current supplied to the output is a strong function of the duty. And same is the case for the 'equivalent resistance' offered by the inductor. So, the quadratic relation comes. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
