limitations of kf stability factor
May 7th, 2013, 3:20am

Hi all,

I have come across this document which says that k-factor is insufficient when considering multi-stage amplifiers or even multi-finger transistors.

http://www.home.agilent.com/upload/cmc_upload/All/AMCAD-STAN_presentation.pdf?cm...

Just wondering what kind of limitations does k-factor have?

thanks,
Aaron

EDIT:
For example, is it possible for a multistage amplifier to be internally unstable but have an overall k>1?
