Phase noise simulation with two oscillators and a mixer
Sep 17th, 2013, 5:17pm

I am trying to simulate a circuit with two LC oscillators and a mixer in Cadence. The two oscillators are off by about 1MHz. However, pss does not converge. I have tried harmonic balance too, with the option of two fundamental tones. This doesn't converge either. Any advice on such a scenario?

After playing around some more on this, I am guessing I might have to resort to estimating phase noise from transient simulation, something like this : http://www.designers-guide.org/Forum/YaBB.pl?num=1196964298

Any other ideas would be helpful.
