How to plot phase difference in Transient Analysis
Apr 22nd, 2014, 5:02am

Hi all,

I am trying to plot the phase difference between two sinusoidal signals in Transient Analysis using Virtuoso Waveform Calculator in Cadence. But, I could not find any function that can plot a phase difference ....

Please suggest

Thanks a lot,

DYL  ;)

There is a function called "delay" you can use it to get the get the delay in seconds then divide it by the period and multiply by 2pi to get the phase difference.

Hi Shady,

Thanks a lot Smiley Never tried it before ... Will it give a time delay between two sinusoidal signals ?

You specify the threshold crossing for the two signals - so you can measure the difference in time for the "zero crossing" of your two sine waves.

The definition of what the delay function does is covered in the documentation.

Hi, I am working on phase shifting an output signal to 90°. How can I do it?

The forum guidelines ask you not to post in old threads, especially when the topic is rather different!

In general, a wideband phase shift is hard to achieve in general (because it's not physical). However, with some knowledge of your system, maybe it's possible - but your question is very vague.

Andrew.
