Pierce oscillator not oscillating problem
Oct 17th, 2016, 12:46am

hello

I am designing crystal pierce oscillator using cadence simulation tool

With specification, 32.768kHz(AB26T)

Below is my design.

I used for 10nA current for inductor initial current
But the oscillation decreased and not started.

1. Is this because inverter gain problem?
2. Also, how inverter can operate as amp? i think one of mos will go triode region, right?

It could be the gain provided by the inverter is less. What is loop gain you see?

An inverter if biased in the steep transition region can provide linear amplification.
