Simulation problem in the Cadence ams suite
Nov 29th, 2003, 3:15pm

Hey everyone
We are running ncsim from the cadence ams suite. our code is in verilog ams. The problem is that the compiling and the elaborating processes are fine but with the simulation, we are getting the following error.

ERROR! cdsInit has not been called
ERROR! can't determine installation root from PATH
ncsim: *internal* (rts_seghandler - SIGSEGV unexpected violation pc=0xfeab2fb0 addr=0x00000000).

   Please help.

thanks

Do you have the LDV stream (<ldvInstdir>/tools/bin) in your UNIX path?

Or are you referring to the full path to the executable?

Are you using the NC-Verilog integration, or are you using AMS Designer?

I'd certainly make sure that you have the software in the path - that
would explain the can't determine installation root from path error. Not
sure about the segmentation fault though.

Which versions are you using (icfb -W, ncsim -version)?

Regards,

Andrew.

I've seen this message trying to start Spectre from the command line, when the binary cds_root was not in my path or in the same directory with the spectre link/executable.
