noise of VCO
May 06th, 2005, 11:20am

I am running pnoise on a VCO. Could some one tell me the result is in single-side or double-side means?

Thanks a lot.

It is SSB-Phase Noise.

Although you can extend a sweep frequency from negative to positive like following, the result is SSB-phase noise

pnoise  (  Vout  0  )  pnoise  sweeptype=relative  relharmnum=1
+       start=-100  stop=100  step=5  maxsideband=15  iprobe=V0
+       refsideband=1  noisetype=sources  annotate=status  save=allpub
+       saveallsidebands=yes

Thank you very very much. It seems I gained 3dB here since negtive sideband noise is already folded.
