See the following for syntax highlighting for VIM and EMACS:

http://www.designers-guide.org/Forum/?board=verilogams;action=display;num=112413...

I think nedit also supports some verilog syntax highlighting (not sure).

Personally I'm a hardened "vi" user (because it's always available, and I know it inside out), but I know some people like having fancy colours in their editors  ;)

Regards,

Andrew.

I'm a sucker for those fancy colors.. they help me to more quickly find my way around code..
I use nedit.. and have posted both verilog-A and Verilog-AMS pattern files to the nedit.org website I've also sent them to the webmasters here.. but if they are not posted yet, I don't know why..

Incremental search, syntax highlighting - pattern files for every useful programming language but skill (at least on their website) calltips (not a feature I've really found useful, but I'd love to have it for skill!)
Tabbed Editing (Multiple files open in ONE EDITOR.. get VI to do that!)
Split windowing.. Column copy, cut, and paste..

that plain black text actually slows me down when I'm writting skill..
