Cadence internal error troubleshooting
Jan 26th, 2007, 6:25am

Hello

After eleborating my design I receive following error message in Hierarchy Editor Message window:

ncelab: *internal* (dlib_write - invalid abstract name - no such library).
Please contact Cadense Design Systems about this problem
and provide enouph information to help us reproduce it.

I'm unawre of what is dlib_write, as I have nothing like this in my design.
Contact to Cadence technical support means wait for some days.

Did anybody encounter *internal* error? Is there some means to troubleshoot it, as there is no any suggestion from tool.

Thanks.

Pavel.

Pavel,

This may (from a little bit of searching) be due to an illegal name being used as the library name. Does the library name begin with a number, or have any punctuation in it? How about the module name(s).

There's a PCR to improve the error message, but from reading between the lines, I believe this is due to invalid names being used...

Regards,

Andrew.

Thank you for answer, Andrew,

Effectively, I had 2 libraries, that start with numbers.
I renamed them, and now am trying with new names.
I'll inform you results.

Best regards.

Andrew,

I renamed libraries, refreshed modules (HE->View->Refresh), deleted *.pak files, deleted cds_global cell
from "root" library and run.

The result of was following Error message window:

AMS Create Globals Module: Error
Couldn't create and/or compile the cds_globals cell view.

and following message in Hierarchy Editor Message window:

Cannot find FMP view for cds_global cellview.
"old_library_name".cds_globals:"top_level_cell"_config
Couldn't create and/or compile the cds_globals cell view

I closed design and run icms from 0. It didn't help.

How could I suppress the links to old library?

Best regards.

Pavel.

Problem resolved

I'm aware of nature of error mesages, but suppressing and creating
one more time of config view for top-level cell resolve the problem.

Andrew thank you for the trail.

Regards

Pavel.
