Query in "MMIC Design"
Mar 11th, 2016, 9:51am

Hello...

I am working in the area of Power Amplifier design. I have few queries regarding basic layout design.

In a basic Power amplifier circuit (attachments), we have a transistor (may be with stabilization network) and input and output matching networks. and generally we try to match to 50 Ohms.
1. In the case of multistage amplifiers (like cascade) we need to design inter stage matching network. How to decide the impedance? (for what impedance we need to match)

2. In layout designing, what is the width of transmission lines i should use for the design? (generally input side we use thinner lines and output side we use more width).
how to decide the width(number) of transmission?
