adaptive initial transient across corners
Sep 28th, 2019, 12:00pm

Hi Everyone,

What ways are there to control the initial transient in spectre based on some conditions? I very often face the problem, that the startup or initial transient of a circuit is long and is a strong function of PVT corners or testbench variables, making a sweep across corners and variables extremely time consuming if I have to adjust for the worst case corner. I've used a veriloga block recently, which among other functions also had a similar role and I am wondering whether there are any other ways to address this issue.

Why is there an initial transient? Did you turn off the DC analysis that starts the transient analysis.

In the presence of a large input signal, the DC and the average steady state voltage will differ due to the non-linear device characteristics.
